About Epipen
During the past ten years in the United Estates
doctors have prescribed EpiPen® Auto-Injector more
than any other brand of epinephrine auto-injectors to
patients with risk for anaphylaxis.

Anaphylaxis (a-na-fi-LAX-is) is the medical term for
a life-threatening allergic reaction that can occur
within minutes after a persons immune system
mistakenly overreacts to an allergen.

Indications
EpiPen® and EpiPen Jr® Auto-Injectors are used for
the emergency treatment of life-threatening allergic
reactions (anaphylaxis) that are caused by allergens,
exercise, and unknown triggers.

Storage
Protect from light and extreme temperatures.
Because Epinephrine is light sensitive it should be
kept inside the protector tube supplied by the
manufacturers.   Store at 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F);
excursions permitted to 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F).

Do not refrigerate. Before using, check to make
sure the solution in the auto-injector is clear and
colorless. Replace the auto-injector if the solution is
discolored (pinkish or brown color), cloudy, or it
looks like it contains particles.

Transporting the Epipens
The best place to keep your auto injectors is inside a
case or pouch that you can wear around your waist
or leg.  This will ensure that you have immediate
access during an emergency.
