*Voltphreaks batteries have a full battery management circuit that prevents damage from over-charge and over-discharge, and balances the cells using an internal balancer. Most lithium racing batteries on the market have no internal circuitry, while some have a balancing circuit only. Very few also feature over/under charge protection (a lithium battery is ruined if it's discharged or charged beyond it's specified voltage range). Voltphreaks batteries also have an on/off switch, which completely isolates and shuts down the battery when off.
The VPH16-900 is used primarily in drag applications without an alternator, but it can also be used with an alternator.
All Voltphreaks batteries have with a battery management system. Because of this, battery can last up to 10 years with proper use, and has a 2 year full warranty.
Note, you must use a proper charger (the Voltphreaks 16V chargers will work). Other lithium 16V chargers will work as long as they are designed for LiFePO4 (lithium-iron) 16 volt batteries. If running with an alternator, adjust alternator to between 17 to 18 volts.
