RT @dr_ultimately: @greatdismal does the new trilogy have a name yet? (e.g., Sprawl, Bridge) [Bigend Books] via BrizzlyFri Apr 09 13:59:22 +0000 2010
Hubertus Bigend is one of the characters who appears in Pattern Recognition and Spook Country and who must survive the editing process to appear in the forthcoming Zero History
The original WIkipedia entry (9 August 2007) for Hubertus Bigend created for a fictional character who ,at the time of first publication of the novel Spook Country, did not have a real Wikipedia entry, but did have a fictional one in print.
Note on the pronunciation of "Bigend"
Spook Country Chapter 13 Boxes page 62
Angelina re-iterates , her concern about your being, however indirectly or only potentially employed by le Bigend, which she points out is more correctly pronounced "bay-jend", sort of, but seldom is, she says, even by him.
The self=referential paradox regarding "sources" or "original research" which this posed for the Wikipedia editors and their collective , pettifogging "policies" regarding" sources" and "original research" amused many cyberpunk fiction fans.
The "hyperspace cloud" which now surrounds William Gibson's writing and also the analysis and criticism by fans and by professional critics, will become even more confusing withZero History.
Many of the "original sources" will be even more ephemeral consisting as they do of short blog postings and Twitterings / Tweets, some of which only have a couple of (important) words regarding Zero History.
