Sarah Palin emails - NOT on this blog !

| | Comments (20)

The WikiLeakS.org website seems to be inaccessible at the moment, and we can guess why - it is probably simply overloaded because of the mainstream media reports of allegedly hacked emails etc. sent or received by the US vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin having been leaked or published there.

If you are stupid enough to mistake or mistype wikileak.org (without an "s") for WikiLeakS.org, whilst you are searching for illegal material then do not blame us.

I will probably publish a list of some of the identifiable organisations and individuals who are currently fruitlessly searching this blog for non-existent copies of "Sarah Palin emails".

I am almost tempted to create some fictitious documents for such gullible fools to find here and embarrass themselves with.

Update Thursday 18th September 2008:

WikiLeakS.org still seems to be overloaded.

Sadly, people are still continuing to use the blog Search box here on the right, to search for "Sarah Palin email" etc. without bothering to read the warning underneath.

It is little wonder that "phishing" frauds and scams work, if some people are willing to click on a web link without double checking the URL, or taking any other precautions, even when they are in search of illegal or morally questionable material.

Some of the comments on this blog post, are not being displayed, but they are being preserved for formal complaints to the offending organisations and ISPs, whose Internet Acceptable Use Policies they breach.

The rest of the new visitors who are actually interested in the ethical and technical implications of the WikiLeakS.org project, and their partially successful attempt to produce an anonymous whistleblower leak publication system, are welcome to read the rest of the blog, and comment on the issues.

"I am almost tempted to create some fictitious documents for such gullible fools to find here and embarrass themselves with."

Rofl. I'm sure someone would take the bait. Heavens... look how quickly people believed Miley Cyrus had died just because some 18 year old who was pleased he "fooled the internet" (yes, he really said that) placed false information on Wikipedia and then cross posted it over at Digg.

amazeing...I've designed a few sites and know how easy it is to track IP's. I would love to see a print out of all of yours here. I wish you all the best...

Rich.

Sounds like a special little someone is jealous. Aww, don't you wish you had a reason to have your website flooded with interested web surfers?

That's precious.

Hope you never serve on a jury! "Poor typist" does not necessarily equal "stupid" person. However, wikileak (no "s") blogger, it seems, does equal angry person. FYI, those of us new to wikileaks were directed to your page by a link, not by mistyping. Hope you're able to get yourself some of whatever it is you need to lighten up. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Haha, that is the angriest I've ever seen someone get about receiving extra attention.

Great job, berate all the folks who have mistakenly come to your website, that'll show them!

...petty fools and their interest in national news!

I guess we should all just hang ourselves now so this guy can get some sleep.

Lord knows he stays up all night making sure he doesn't make such sinful typos, and fearing the day new people might happen upon his blog.

If you are not leveraging this opportunity, you are the idiot here.

He's too busy calling other people stupid for navigating to his page. Also threating to give out our IPs! o dear!

this is the www fool and beyond your ability to control or comprehend, good luck on future dealings with HLS, CIA, and other unmetionable agencies currently building your file.

Amazing, it is the freedom of the press, and the freedoms we have, obviously tyranical people who would dedicate a blog, to be a copy cat of another blog are just asking to be found here. Granted your site was referenced ( possibly without the S) when you google this site comes up. Yes, this is the digital age, of course you could do anything write an angry blog about how human curiosity is the root of all evil. Or you could write about how a questionable Vice President in the even the president died is being questions not on the grounds of being a woman, but on the grounds that she is vindictive and a person of no moral fiber. If the readers want a little more insight as to who they are voting and the press throws a bone, then YES, of course we are going to look for it. Shame on you!! for taking the time to create this useless blog, which is obviously one sided. It is Fascist people like yourself that make people that seek knowledge weary of people like Palin!

I'm from the old school internet (BBS', Gaining access to local college servers just to hop to another) and originally it was all about freedom of information. I still have that mindset, and wholeheartedly support what this site and wikileakS.org is doing. Keep up the good work. "the revolution will not be televised" - Chuck D.

is so difficult for you to understand ?

The ip-adress is stil working, so if people want to see the site go to: http://88.80.13.160/wiki/Sarah_Palin_Yahoo_account_2008

How could I have been such an idiot! I feel so embarrassed :">

You are one angry person - and you should be! In fact everyone should be outraged at the abuse of power that the GOP has exercised.
In response to your line "I am almost tempted to create some fictitious documents for such gullible fools to find here and embarrass themselves with." Why not - it has worked well for the rest of your party. When you can't deal with the truth - just LIE ABOUT IT !!

Wikileaks has some problems...two to ten years in jail for the theft of Sarah Palin's email and the posting of the item on Wikileaks.

The Democrats will go to any low they can to try to win an election, won't they?

First-this is not a "democratic" site. They don't care who they burn (see for yourself if they ever come back up). The materiel fit their criteria for publication, so...well...you know.

Secondly-your narrowminded Republican-ness is showing

Thirdly-Instead of pointing and shouting "DEMOCRATS!" in a knee jerk reaction to bad news for the GOP, try thinking about the situation with a straight ahead viewpoint. If you think, you'll probably be pretty pissed at all of them.

Fourth (and final) Vote. Preferably not for McCain the Fascist, nor for Obama the Young. Who you vote for is not important, but now more than ever who you DON'T vote for is tantamount.

Good luck to us all....

About this blog

This blog here at WikiLeak.org (no "S") discusses the ethical and technical issues raised by the WikiLeakS.org project, which is trying to be a resource for whistleblower leaks, by providing "untraceable mass document leaking and analysis".

These are bold and controversial aims and claims, with both pros and cons, especially for something which crosses international boundaries and legal jurisdictions.

This blog is not part of the WikiLeakS.org project, and there really are no copies of leaked documents or files being mirrored here.

LeakDirectory.org

Now that the WikiLeakS.org project is defunct, so far as new whistleblower are concerned, what are the alternatives ?

The LeakDirectory.org wiki page lists links and anonymity analyses of some of the many post-wikileaks projects.

There are also links to better funded "official" whistlblowing crime or national security reporting tip off websites or mainstream media websites. These should, in theory, be even better at protecting the anonymity and security of their informants, than wikileaks, but that is not always so.

New whistleblower website operators or new potential whistleblowers should carefully evaluate the best techniques (or common mistakes) from around the world and make their personal risk assessments accordingly.

Hints and Tips for Whistleblowers and Political Dissidents

The WikiLeakS.org Submissions web page provides some methods for sending them leaked documents, with varying degrees of anonymity and security. Anybody planning to do this for real, should also read some of the other guides and advice to political activists and dissidents:

Please take the appropriate precautions if you are planning to blow the whistle on shadowy and powerful people in Government or commerce, and their dubious policies. The mainstream media and bloggers also need to take simple precautions to help preserve the anonymity of their sources e.g. see Spy Blog's Hints and Tips for Whistleblowers - or use this easier to remember link: http://ht4w.co.uk

WikiLeakS Twitter feeds

The WikiLeakS.org website does not stay online all of the time, especially when there is a surge of traffic caused by mainstream media coverage of a particularly newsworthy leak.

Recently, they have been using their new Twitter feeds, to selectively publicise leaked documents to the media, and also to report on the status of routing or traffic congestion problems affecting the main website in Stockholm, Sweden.
