BBC reports:

"Mayor facing Nazi jibe hearing

London mayor Ken Livingstone will face a disciplinary hearing over comments made to a Jewish journalist.

He will appear before an independent panel and could be banned from office for five years if it rules against him.

An inquiry began after Mr Livingstone accused a reporter of "doorstepping" him at a party in February and likened him to a concentration camp guard.

He faces allegations that he failed to respect others or that he brought his office into disrepute.

Mr Livingstone will appear before the independent Adjudication Panel for England some time before December which will rule if he breached the Greater London Authority Code of Conduct."

It is not too late for Ken Livingstone to apologise for his stupid remarks back in February.

Why is this Standards in Public Life Adjudication process taking so long ? What other cases are they examining ? Probably none.

The Observer has more questions and details about the shooting of Brazilian electrician Jean Charles de Menezes at Stockwell Tube station on Friday 22nd July 2005:

"Evidence of this hold-up should have been provided by CCTV footage from dozens of cameras covering the Stockwell ticket hall, escalators, platforms and train carriages.

However, police now say most of the cameras were not working. Yet pictures are available of a bombing suspect leaving another station nearby, and after the 7 July attacks tube boses could have been expected to make extra efforts to see that all their cameras were in action."

Who seriously believes that the post-Olympics "legacy" will create the same number or more, permanent local jobs in the blighted area, as are being destroyed or moved by this property speculation and development which will follow on from the Olympics Compulsory Purchases ?

It would be criminal if any of the speculators , consultancies , professional advisors etc., including the London Development Agency quango, who will be profiting from this compulsory purchasing and property development, contribute financially to Ken Livingtone's campaign funds, or employ him after he retires from the office of Mayor of London.

The Independent reports

" Businesses on Olympic site fight to avoid eviction By Matthew Beard Published: 13 August 2005

The London Mayor Ken Livingstone will embark on one of the UK's largest and most controversial compulsory purchase programmes this month to clear the site for the 2012 Olympic Games.

About 300 businesses based on a 250-acre site within the proposed Olympic Park in Stratford will be sent the orders in the next few weeks, it emerged yesterday.

The companies, which employ at least 5,000 staff in the Marshgate Lane area, will be told to vacate their premises and take up an offer of alternative land before the bulldozers move in at the beginning of July 2007 to clear the site for construction of the main Olympic Stadium.

It appears that an "all clear" has been declared after the Gray's Inn Road Bus / holdall incident.

No suspicous package, perhaps it was indeed a problem with the Bus itself.

The Police and response plans to such incidents still seem to be rather slow and heavyhanded, even after the hundreds of attacks and false alarms that we have suffered from recently.

Sky News report smoke has been seen from a Bus at the north end of Gray's Inn Road .

Possible suspect package on the Bus

Gray's Inn Road, Euston Road closures, this will cause traffic jams but not "chaos"

N.B. it is possible that this could just be a Bus on fire - there was a problem with several of the new "bendy buses" overheating last year.

Number 205 Whitechapel to Paddington

Why on earth is Kings Coss railway and underground station being evacuated ???

Even if the whole Bus was packed full of explosives, it would pose no risk to the deep King's Cross Underground !

Hints and Tips for Whistleblowers

There are many good people trapped in the bureaucracies which run London. If you are thinking about blowing the whistle on shadowy and powerful people in Government or commerce, and their dubious policies then you need be very careful these days. The mainstream media and bloggers also need to take simple precautions to help preserve the anonymity of their sources e.g.
