BBC Radio Wales - token anti London Olympic Bid interview wanted in less than an hour's time !

Drop everything and dance to the tune of the public media!

It seems to be acceptable for the BBC to arrange pre-record some pro Olympic bid stuff, with vested interests, but they only bother to give the token anti Olympic bid people a mere hour and threequarters to get to a local radio studio, find an ISDN line etc, to get their views recorded before broadcast time. This website, and our London Olympics 2012 - No!!!! webpage have been in the search engines from when the Bid was announced, so this last minute scrabbling around for opponents to the Bid really does smack of tokenism.

This does not seem like fair and balanced reporting of the issues to me, and if this keeps on, there are going to be some official complaints to Ofcom:

Good morning, my name's AAA BBB and I'm a producer on the Nicola Heywood Thomas programme, BBC Radio Wales. Today, between 1235 and 1250, we're going to be discussing London's bid for the 2012 Olympics.

We've recorded a short interview with James Cracknell which we'll be playing out, and we'll also be talking to the Chair of the Sports Council in Wales, who feels that Britain as a whole would benefit from hosting the Olympics. What we haven't got is a dissenting voice, someone who can talk about the drawbacks for Britain should London get picked as host for 2012. Could you provide anyone to take part? This could be done via a radio studio local to you, an ISDN line, or on a landline.

Please let me know as soon as you can.

Many thanks,

Hints and Tips for Whistleblowers

There are many good people trapped in the bureaucracies which run London. If you are thinking about blowing the whistle on shadowy and powerful people in Government or commerce, and their dubious policies then you need be very careful these days. The mainstream media and bloggers also need to take simple precautions to help preserve the anonymity of their sources e.g.
