We have had a request from a researcher for BBC London's "Inside Out" programme seeking opponents of the London 2012 Olympic bid.
This is in line with the Corporation's stated policy of "balance" and "fairness", but, bear in mind that the BBC do have a vested commercial corproate interest in a "successful bid".
Anyone who has appeared on local TV or Radio knows that the hour or so of your time you give them, often ends up as a mere 5 or 10 second soundbite, out of context.
Anybody who does wish to be put in contact with the BBC programme researcher, feel free to email us or to comment here.
Did you find someone to be the 'anti' stooge? True, media bias is ghastly & it's hardly surprising if people don't want to go through it. If you haven't got anyone, then either I or my husband - maybe better him, since he's pretty tough & commutes, with rage, daily... e-mail me.
I'm an Olympian and against the bid. The bid team, Ken and Tessa have not been honest about the hidden costs of holding an Olympics, in terms of wasted infrastructure spending, misallocation of resources. There is no evidence that any past Olympics has resulted in improvements in public health or sporting participation, nor are they the cheapest way to undertake urban redevelopment, even if that was the highest priority thing to do with taxpayers' money. And I don't like my Prime Minister cozying up to a self-selecting and corrupt bunch of fixers, whose governance and morals are stuck in the nineteenth century.

I had a laugh with it anyway !
